During the summer, once a week if I can manage it, I like to join a plein air painting group. This is the result of one of those outings. Blakeney is a charming little gem found just north of Mississippi Mills, Ontario.

Description

'Blakeney Still Water' captures an outdoor scene showing a pile of rocks at the edge of a body of still water. Sunlight filters through vertical elements that suggest a forested backdrop, causing highlights and shadows to play across the surface of the rocks and the surrounding environment. Reflections in the water are depicted with thoughtful brushstrokes, giving the impression of movement and depth. The colors employed range from deep browns and blues in the water to warmer yellows and whites, providing a contrast that enhances the naturalistic feel of the scene. The use of texture and varied brushwork adds a dynamic quality to the painting, inviting the viewer to sense the crispness of the air and the tranquility of the setting.
